Hospitality and Tourism Industry is sure to shape the profile of Services sector the world over as it accounts for 30 per cent of the world‘s services Industry. Core Hotel and Catering industry is said to indirectly generate roughly 1.5 additional jobs in the related economy. The UNWTO projects the sector‘s global economy to provide 296 million jobs in 2019.

Hospitality, Catering and Tourism (HCT) will remain among the world‘s top creators of jobs requiring a wide range of skills that allow our youth a head start in their career. Being the country with the highest percentage of youth, India cannot ignore the lurking and imminent danger of unmanageable unemployment scenario should we fail to train aspiring youth for Hospitality careers. Mercifully the Governments’ emphasis on Skill Education and recognition of Vocational Education as equivalent or even superior to theory oriented learning has helped.

Efforts are on to upgrade the Institute and secure Affiliation of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, or the Approval of AICTE to commence 3 year Degree program in Hotel management and Catering Technology.
